Lamellar
Peel
Back
The
peel was developed by Dr. Bruce Freedman and staff at Plastic
Surgery Associates of Northern Virginia to bridge the gap between
deep laser resurfacing and non-ablative remodeling for facial
rejuvenation. It has been used to successfully treat fine wrinkles,
acne scars and dyschromia.
Process:
This is a two laser treatment performed sequentially during the
same visit. Topical gel anesthesia is used to num the skin afterwhich
an Nd:Yag laser is used to stimulate the dermis, create new collagen
and tighten the skin. Then a high energy erbium laser is used
to superficially exfoliate the skin. This smoothes out surface
irregularities. Patients notice immediate redness the resembles
a sunburn followed by mild peeling over the next 2-3 days. Patients
can be seen in public after that and use sunscreen for protection.
Results:
Patients experience improvements in skin texture with noticeable
tightening and decreased pore size. A series of three treatments
spaced at six week intervals are usually necessary to optimize
results.
Plastic
Surgery Associates of Northern Virginia is proud to offer skincare
analysis and clinical customized skincare programs for all our
