Rhinoplasty

     A prominent nose can call undue attention away from other areas of the face and can affect ones own self perception. A Rhinoplasty can often restore more harmony to the structure of the face allowing the natural beauty of the eyes, cheeks and mouth to be seen.

Process: A small incision between the nostrils and inside the nose allows access to the cartilage and bone which give the nose its shape. Sculpting of these structures is done under direct visualization and the skin is re-draped.

Recovery: A splint is worn for 1 week after a Rhinoplasty, and nasal packing is rarely used. Approximately half of the patients experience significant bruising lasting 7-14 days.

Results: An immediate change is seen after surgery and the removal of the splint, although swelling persists for several more weeks. As the nose heals, swelling diminishes and the final result is seen at 1 year.
